In Order To Change Focus On Success Not The Problem

Our country`s real economy has begun to suffer due to the global economical crisis which started in the last quater of 2008. The extent of the problem is unknown however, in comparison to the average 7% growth rate (GSMH) between 2002 – 2007 the expected growth rate for 2009 is 1% which is not promising and leads us to believe that numerous companies may seek a change in strategy.
Whether it is pushing performances from average to excellent, reducing costs, increasing productivity, merging with other companies or relocating companies will seek a significant change in strategy.
Every company will acquire a change in strategy to suit their structure in order to guarantee stability and productivity during the crisis.
All companies will need to set clear objectives regardless of their industry. Once the objectives have been set an appointed transition manager will relay the information to team members ensuring that they are understood thoroughly. It is crucial that all team members are informed from the start in order to execute the change in strategy with success.
Do not forget that in situations where only seniour management have been involved in the transition the success rate has been relatively low.
Communication is crucial throughout the transition period, all developements and details should be shared with team members thus incresing effectiveness. The following will increase the rate of success if carried out during the transition period:
  • Constant communication
  • All team members should understand and carry out their responsibilities
  • The relationship between team members and the transition manager should be continuous.
It is impossible to imagine a transition without people, as they are the ones who start and ultimately control it. Therefore, it is not surprising that the success level and outcome of a transition depends on teamwork and the motivation of the team members. It is key that team members should focus on the objectives and forget their problems during the transition period. Team members should be motivated by success, this will allow them to overcome any problems that arise and continue on their path.
2009 could be the year of happiness for everybody however, only companies that focus on success, regardless of the conditions and difficulties awaiting them, will experience the satisfaction and pleasure of accomplishment.
