Eyes Will Always Adapt To Darkness No Matter How Dark It Is

The Turkish car industry is going through a hard time which seems to have no immediate solution however, I do not believe that pessimism is the answer to the problem.
People who witnessed the crisis of the coach industry in 2001 will remember the 90% downsizing in the market. Ofcourse it is impossible to compare the events of 2001 to the current situation. In comparison to a global crisis that has spread like wild fire throughout the world from the USA to Europe to the Far East, the crisis in 2001 was geographical and specific only to Turkey due to its internal affairs.
In 2001 manufacturers effected by the domestic market crisis found the solution in exporting goods and turing to the international market. Unfortunately this is not an option under today’s circumstances as the car industry is suffering from downsizing worldwide. Should manufacturers feel as though they have been trapped in a corner? Ofcourse not....
Every situation should be turned into an opportunity. There is always an abundance of questions in relation to how a crisis can be transformed into an opportunity. At this point defining “a crisis” will help us create the strategies and allow us to create the oppotunities. If the decrease in sales figures or a change in market demands is the definition of a crisis, data in relation to the market’s rise and falls should be analysed and opportunities should be established and identified accordingly. It is other wise impossible to maintain efficientcy, high profit margins and achieve contiouous success if you try to comply with indusry dynamics as they happen and do not have a wide enough vision.
Even in crisis situations downsizing never results in a no sales situation, infact different opportuinities might even arise, therefore, painting a dark picture is not necessary. For example comsumers are also effected as a result of an economical crisis, in order to save money they will turn to public transport, as a result demand in public transportation will increase.
In an environment where car sales are decreasing by the day, after sales customer services plays a key role. People steering away from investment will look to maintain their cars in order to extend its production life span. As a result aftersales customer services is defined as a lifesaver throughout crisis periods.
Every crisis has its own characteristics however, one thing is certain – invest in the industry. If no investments take place during this period there will be no industry to come back to. In other words it doesn’t matter how dark it is you eyes will adjust to the darkness eventually. At this point the key to success is confidence and working harder than usual.
